HOW ZEALOUS ARE YOU?

There’s a dangerous phenomenon that I observe in Christendom these days, more and more Christians are choosing to serve God out of convenience. Many just want to remain in their comfort zones. Many are becoming at ease. I wonder what has happened to Paul’s admonition in 2 Timothy 4 v 2:…. be ready in season and out of season…, meaning whether it is comfortable or convenient or not. Many now prefer to join services online, including on Sundays, advancing all manners of excuses, instead of being in Church. Lord have mercy! For the avoidance of doubt, online service can never be same or take the place of physical gathering of God’s people.

Unlike some of the people in Bible times who would go to any length to follow the Lord. In Mathew 14 v 13 – 14, Jesus left town and went to a “deserted place”, certainly out of the city. He went by boat. If He went by boat, I guess it must have been some distance, not a place you could easily trek to. Still the people followed Him, on foot; they walked to the place, not minding the distance. Little wonder when Jesus saw them, saw their zeal, He was moved with compassion and attended to their needs.

You want God to meet your needs, but are you a fair weather Christian? How far are you willing to go for the Lord and with the Lord? How much sacrifice are you willing to make? How zealous are you? Remember Hebrews 11 v 6: … He is a rewarder of those who DILIGENTLY seek Him. May the Lord revive His Church in Jesus’ name.
